Kate Bishop is a fictional character and member of the Young Avengers superhero team in Marvel comics who takes up the role of Hawkeye after Clint Barton passes it on. Steinfeld will play the role of this arrow-shooting heroine.
Steinfeld started acting at the age of 10, and has appeared in various movies including "Bumblebee" (2018), "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" (2018) and "The Edge of Seventeen" (2016). She has been nominated for several Academy Awards, and won "Best Supporting Actress" in "True Grit" (2010).
The character Clint Barton will be played by Jeremy Renner, who already starred as the same role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie series. Renner has appeared in several other films such as "Wind River" (2017), "The Bourne Legacy" (2012) and "Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation" (2015).
The creation of the "Hawkeye" series was announced in April 2019, and is expected to run six to eight episodes. The show will be produced by Kevin Feige within Marvel Studios, and is estimated to consist of a large budget compared to other television series.
Disney Plus is a soon-to-be released video streaming platform that will include content from studios such as Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and National Geographic, according to Polygon.com. This compilation of video entertainment programs will be available for purchase at $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year (about $5.83 a month).
This new service, similar to Netflix or Hulu, will launch Nov. 12, 2019, and will include movies as well as original television shows like "The Mandalorian" and "Falcoln and the Winter Soldier."
Other characters from MCU movies and Marvel comics will also make appearances with their own television shows in Disney Plus, including Loki, Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight.
